4. MATTERS OF EDUCATION
‘The Big Wheel’ continues to roll along, and the transition to faculty-wide common curriculums will take place next fall. However, this process is still very incomplete, and preparations for the implementation of the new curriculums continue to take place. Groups for the development of study paths were supposed to finish their work, but a decision has been made on their continuation. If your own study path does not currently have a development group, it is useful to bring this to the attention of Condus’ advocacy team at edunvalvonta[a]condus.fi.
University administration paid a visit to Minerva-tori on 22.2. A discussion panel open to the entire faculty was held. At the event, concerns regarding the transformation to new degree requirements was brought up. Study designers and educational staff are already working with limited resources, and new degree requirements are expected to further increase their tasks. In order to improve the situation, additional resources will be provided, at least to program advising. Condus has been asked to monitor the situation, so feel free to contact us if problems related to these matters arise.
5. MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
An event for the municipal elections will be organised March 30th in the facilities of the faculty. You can still join the planning of this event via contacting your own student organisation or the board of Condus. After the event we will organise an excursion to the early voting, during which you have a chance to write facts about education on the streets with chalk! On the actual election day we will throw an event for the election coverage. The detailed information will be published soon.
